Terms & Conditions Course Final vs. DOL Exam: The written test given at the end of a driver’s ed course is not the official Department of Licensing Knowledge Exam. Passing your course exam is required to complete the class, but you must also pass the official DOL Knowledge Exam to move forward. To pass, the DOL Knowledge Exam requires a score of 80% or higher. Retakes: Each retake is $35.00 plus tax per attempt.
